Command Station

The marine commander's chair and the heart of every marine base. Built on tech points.

The Command Station is where the marine commander sits. A marine climbs in by pressing E on it. It can only be built on a tech point, and every map starts the marines with one.

What it does#

  • Commander login. Only one commander at a time. The first commander of a round has to stay in the chair for 30 s before they can leave.
  • Win condition. The marines lose the moment their last Command Station is destroyed, or when every marine is dead and the team cannot respawn (no working Infantry Portal).
  • Infantry Portals. Each station allows 3 portals near it. Games with 9+ players start with two portals.
  • Beacon target. Distress Beacon brings marines to the station nearest the observatory.

Advanced Marine Support#

Researched at the Command Station for 20 team res (60 s). Unlocks Nano Shield, Catalyst Packs and Power Surge.

A second Command Station#

A second station on another tech point gives a second spawn base and a backup if the main base falls (it does not raise the supply cap, which is a flat 200). It is expensive (15 res plus portals and power) and gives the aliens a new target, so most teams only build one when the map is under control.

Tips#

  • Never leave the chair empty for long in a close game: no commander means no med packs, no research and no new structures.
  • Recycle structures you no longer need to get 75% of their cost back.
